Read it here! http://edvantage.com.sg/edvantage/features/people/532380/Overcoming_deaths_in_her_family.html

This article was first published in The New Paper.

This is a tragedy. For a secondary 5 girl who was going to have her major examination, the " levels, her father and brother had passed away. She fought through her grief of losing both her father and brother during her exam period to obtain good results. She strive and suppressed her expectations she had set for herself, she did well. Although to many of us, a L1R4 of 23 is not a big deal but it means a lot to her. Just imagine that you were in her shoes. She had dreams, of entering to a business diploma at NYP just like her deceased brother.

This particular article moved my heart and made me want to meet her in person to commend her for her fortitude and spirit of never giving up. Despite having been through two funerals, she has not been overcome with emotion. Instead, she tries to live up to expectations and studies harder. I overheard one of my friends calling her delusional for trying to reach her brother's goal. I hope she truly wants to go to that polytechnic, not for her brother but for herself. With that said, I shall stop typing here. Good night people and do learn from her enduring character. It might lead to your own success one day!
